The Greenwald House on Retta Esplanade

The Greenwald House at 321 W. Retta Esplanade was built in 1932 by the Greenwald family of Black Rock, North Carolina as a winter fishing retreat.   Lena Greenwald, daughter of the original owner married Leonard McCann who served as Mayor of Punta Gorda and host to Teddy Roosevelt and other prominent vistors to Punta Gorda.

Never Saw My Hometown Till I'd Been Away Too Long

It was the harbor that drew me here and the harbor that keeps drawing me back.  After seeing the magnificent harbor at Shanghai I am still enthralled whenever I return to Charlotte Harbor.
