Punta Gorda Pup -- Leonberger at Farmer's Market

Looks like a Lion right?  Well there is a reason. The Leonberger is a giant dog breed that derives from the city of Leonberg in Baden-W├╝rttemberg, Germany. The  Leonberger according to legend was  bred as a 'symbolic dog' that would mimic the lion in the town's crest. (Source: Wikopedia)  And she is a pup less than a year old.

The Purple House

According to County Records this pretty little building on Sullivan was originally built as a retail store in the 1920s.  By the 1990s it was a pretty sad shape until another retail took it over and painted it this glorious purple, which it has remained.  It is currently owned by the Charlotte Sun.
