The Walmart Sandcranes

The family of sandcranes that live and wander near the Walmart were captured in this photo yesterday.  One of their children is now at the Peace River Wildlife Center after being injured by a careless motorist.  It had been rumored that the rest of the family had later been killed - not so.  I was happy to find them right near the Walmart.  More photos and a fuller post to come.   (On a sad note a beautiful woodstork was killed yesterday by a motorist -- please be aware of these shorter pedestrians in our neighborhood -- they were here first.)
