The Hauntingly Beautiful Sandlin House of Punta Gorda


The historic Sandlin House on Retta Esplanade was built in 1893 by James and Mary Sandlin.  Sandlin was a member of the first Punta Gorda City Council.  He came to Punta Gorda to engage in the mercantile, citrus and shipping industries and built the widow's walk to check ships at the dock at the harbor across from his home.
